Planet Series

Why This Collection Was Created?

Traditional astronomy education often relies on flat diagrams, static photographs, or scale-model kits — all of which struggle to convey the real size, surface detail, and physical differences between planets. This collection was created to provide a consistent, reusable, and visually accurate digital alternative that can be used in classrooms, training sessions, and outreach activities regardless of season, location, or access to physical equipment.

About This Collection

The AR/VR Planet Series is an interactive 3D educational resource presenting the planets of the Solar System. The collection has been developed to support STEM education, natural sciences training, and Erasmus+ educational activities through immersive digital learning approaches. All models have been prepared as educational prototypes for future AR/VR learning environments and interactive training scenarios.

Project Overview

The AR/VR Planet Series is an interactive 3D educational resource presenting the planets of the Solar System in a rotatable, detail-rich format. All models are created using a 3D generation and modeling workflow, then prepared as web-based, rotatable 3D objects for direct classroom and training use — with future potential for full AR/VR integration.

Collection Contents

This collection currently contains 1 completed interactive 3D educational model, with 8 more planned, covering the Sun and the planets of the Solar System:

Educational Focus of Each Model

Mercury – Introduction to extreme temperature variation and surface conditions on a world without an atmosphere.

Additional planets will be added to this section as their models are completed.

Use in Erasmus+ Activities

This collection has been designed with flexibility in mind, making it suitable for adaptation within Erasmus+ mobility, training, and youth exchange activities focused on STEM education, digital learning, or natural sciences. It can serve as supporting material for Learning, Teaching and Training Activities (LTTAs) or as a demonstration tool during partner meetings.
